Day 7: July 13, 2017
But if I say I’ll never mention the LORD or speak in his name, his word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can’t do it!
Jeremiah 20:9 NLT
It’s been seven straight days of writing in the morning, and I’m not surprised at how good it has been. Although, it has taken up more than the 15-30 minutes I mentioned on day one; so, I’m not sure how long I can keep it up (especially during the school year) – unless I become more disciplined about getting up early and/or cutting off my writing and picking it up later or the next day.
But what I hadn’t expected was how writing in the morning would draw me closer to the Lord. There have been so many accounts of His faithfulness that needed to be told and remembered. I have not come to end of them – and I probably never will.
Writing is good for my soul.
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Has the LORD redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies. . . . Those who are wise will take all this to heart; they will see in our history the faithful love of the LORD.
Psalm 107:1-2, 43 NLT
